My kindergarten students are a loud and active bunch. We spend much of our day playing, singing, and moving our bodies and I am learning how to cover math and reading standards using hands-on methods that really help kids "get" what is being taught. We are learning to read, write, manage conflict, and appreciate the math and science that surrounds us everywhere we go. In addition to "the basics" of kindergarten learning, we also spend much of our time learning outside in our outdoor classroom and learning what it means to be a good friend. We plant flowers in the fall, shovel sidewalks in the winter, and pick up trash in the neighborhood in the spring. Kindergarten is a joy, and I am thankful for this site for helping us obtain materials to keep our learning headed in the right direction.
