My students have very short attention spans as well as sensory integration issues. They need a variety of seating options to keep their bodies tuned into the task before them. Their sensory processing systems crave input that these types of chairs provide. These lap desks, ball chairs, and wobble cushions, will help their bodies and brains learn to work together. It is amazing to see how much more focus my students exhibit when they are given tools such as these to silence the 'itch' in their bodies telling them that they just gotta move! Right now I have one yoga ball and a few home-made squishy cushions. Having access to quality items will help my students tremendously.
