Most of our students are refugees, immigrants and come from low income families. Because artmaking time is so valuable while in the art room, this project will give them the opportunity to extend and share their stories using digital production and arts integration on the iPad. This, in turn, will inspire self confidence and a love for learning as they experience a freedom for expression using digital art. Students' artistic stories and many uses of digital skills may then be told and, as projects are completed, they will be celebrated with all other classrooms in the school and become archives of the school library. Digital records of this project will be posted on the school's Art4cast Wikispace and the school website. What better assessment tool than to be published while preparing students for 21st century learning. This can be nothing but a successful project with this diverse population.
