Last year, I observed a classroom in another district and saw how they ran their own little coffee shop in their classroom. The students were in charge of it all and they learned a lot of life lessons. They also learned how to work with money, maintain an inventory, market their products and take orders. This fall we are going to make a coffee shop for my students to work! We will be selling the coffees for a nominal fee to be able to keep the the shop stocked. They will be able to help decide the menu and have the overall opportunity to run their own small business!
