In this day in age, students need to be 21st century learners who are able to integrate technology in all aspects of learning. Ideal as this goal is, the reality for my students is not as simple. Most students do not readily have access to the the kinds of technology needed to support or demonstrate their learning at home, so school is the only place they have access to technology. As my students prepare for middle school, assignments, reports, and projects are becoming more technology-based. Students take great pride in the work and effort they put into projects, and having a printer easily accessible to them will help showcase their hard work for others to see. This will help them create high-quality pieces of work and take pride and ownership in them as well. Committed to learn and bearing a smile on their face, students enter my classroom ready to embark on whatever journey of knowledge the day has in store. Having a printer in our homeroom will support students with showcasing their reports and projects as well as completing work in a timely manner since technology will be at their fingertips. This will be highly beneficial in supporting learning for all students and minimize the level of stress students feel when trying to figure out how and when they will be able to complete their projects. I have seen the level of pride students have when they are able to "show off" their projects that they completed using technology. My students and I would appreciate your support in making this a reality!
