The basic supplies will benefit our students and families directly. Many of our families are still dealing with a variety of issues because of the hurricane. As a school, we are trying to help them by providing school supplies rather than having the families provide them. We hope to provide scissors, crayons, and construction paper for art and academic activities. We are also trying to provide writing journals so that students can write and draw to express their feelings and share their experiences. Parents will only have to provide backpacks. Having basics needs met will take the burden off of the families and no students will have to feel like they don't have materials that the other students have. I am also requesting fidget bands to help keep active students focused. Fidget bands will help students satisfy their need for movement while allowing them to focus without distracting others. Your support in the effort will make a definite difference for these children. Thank you for your consideration.
