I have been creating a math classroom that is focused on student-centered, project-based problem solving. I will be offering student choice on the activities individuals and small groups tackle each day, to include collaborative project options. I would like a space for them to share ideas and build problem solving strategies as teams. Problem solving is a dynamic process that requires participation by all team members and an equitable flow of ideas. My students need a workspace that fosters teamwork on various math projects. I have chosen 5 items that I believe will solicit interest and participation in collaborative projects that build lifelong skill sets that will serve them well throughout their lives. I'm requesting a circular table with a dry erase surface and 4 wobble stools for around the table. It will be awesome for the kids to have so much collaborative writing space and stools to perch on instead of traditional, stationary chairs. Thank you to anyone who is considering helping my classroom - any amount helps, even $1! It isn't the size of the contribution that matters, just the desire to promote engaging, world-class learning centers for our kids!
