My students need 6 rectangular activity tables to promote collaboration and develop their skills as 21st century learners. It is my desire to transform my classroom into a place where students can choose the space they need to help them succeed and build their skills as 21st century learners. The six activity tables is another step towards my classroom transformation. The tables allow for flexible seating and flexible grouping for a variety of tasks including literacy, writing, math tasks, and small group instruction. With these tables, my students will be able to sit in close proximity while collaborating, communicating, and problem solving together as partners or in small groups. Additionally, the activity tables foster student focus, organization and community. My students will not only learn from each other, but will learn how to share space and supplies. Community at it's best!
