Many of the supplies that I am requesting are just basic needs to be successful in the classroom. The glue, crayons, and construction paper are supplies that will be used daily as part of assignments and book making. We make several books throughout the year, and a variety of construction paper makes nice covers. Instead of a morning worksheet, we do skill tubs. The beads, pipe cleaners , pom pons and alphabetical letters will be used for counting, matching and letter recognition. These are skills necessary for success. Since my students come from low income families, I need to send home pencils, erasers and crayons so that they can do their homework. The flexible pencil cases will help them keep their supplies organized and in one place, so that they can be successful. The rest of the items will allow me to make games and skill practice cards for them to use at center time. We have math and reading centers on a daily basis. I need items to make things durable so that they can be used over and over again. I try to laminate all necessary items to protect games so that I do not have to remake them on a yearly basis.
