Many of my students live in very uncomfortable situations away from school and I would like to provide a comfortable place for them while they are sitting in the small, safe world that is Mrs. Wright's classroom. I teach 105 juniors the history of the greatest country in the world, The United States of America. Many times they find it hard to understand how they have been blessed to live in a country with so many opportunities, when their school is under served. My classroom is filled with broken desks that are literally falling apart. My students and myself have had our clothing ripped and even suffered minor scrapes due to the condition of these desks. I am hoping to replace these desks and bring my classroom into the 21st century with tables and chairs, so that my growing teens will have a comfortable experience. With so much stacked against them outside of the four walls of my class, it is important for me to foster an environment that cultivates collaboration, innovation, team work and a sense of family.
