Our students have limited access to the internet and technology. Third grade students in Florida must take and pass a very important test in order to continue to the next grade level. Unfortunately, students from low income households may not have the tools needed to navigate the online testing system comfortably. I would like to provide my students with the opportunity to further their technological experience before they have to prove their knowledge using the computer. Students will use the Chromebooks to navigate the Internet, practice keyboarding, do research projects, create documents and presentations, and use supplemental learning programs such as iReady, Google Earth and Accelerated Reader throughout the school year. The skills they will learn are all important skills that students need to learn not only for testing, but to be successful in the workforce when they are older as well.
