In my classroom, technology is a tool for empowerment, it creates a collaborative and innovative space for all students.My special education students are all on different levels with different learning styles and personal interest. They are often engaged in the learning of supplemental math and reading classes to bring them up to grade level expectations. I have decided to bring student interests into my resource room with the use of computer technology. In fact, scientists have shown that passionate interests can even allow people to overcome academic difficulties or perceptual disabilities. I chose the laptops because my students are interested in speed typing and learning to play chess online. They can also use the laptops for reading and math programs.
