My students need flexible seating options to help them engage in lessons and take charge of their learning space. It has been proven that most kids learn best when they are comfortable, and most kids are shown to be most comfortable when they are moving, not stuck seated in a desk all day. Implementing flexible seating, or allowing students to sit where they choose, picking from a variety of options, will help my students feel more comfortable in the classroom and overall lead to better focus and higher achievement. By having flexible seating in my classroom, students will be able release energy while learning so they are more engaged and focused during the school day. In order for this dream to become a reality, I need different types of seating for my students to be able to choose from that allow them to move and be comfortable wherever they are in the classroom. Some items I am looking for are wobble chairs, exercise balls, wobble cushions, and bouncy bands to put on standard desk chairs. I hope I get the opportunity to set up my first classroom with the belief that each and every student feels comfortable and cared for every day they walk through our door. Please help my students' minds become flexible with flexible seating!!
