My students attend a high poverty school in California, one without a library of its own. My students are eager to learn, but there is a lack of extra curricular classes, such as art, music, and PE. Basal readers are often times their only readily accessible form of literature. For a majority of my students, education is the gateway for learning about the world beyond them. Books inspire, motivate, and deepen students' literacy. Help give them the chance to really learn about themselves, their lives, and other people's lives so they can continue to grow to be independent and self-motivated learners!

About my class
