These SumBlox will allow students to manipulate and teach each other the developmental math operations, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions. Having a hands-on experience has been proven to make instruction work! Mastery and depth of understanding of these skills are essential to the growth the students will experience in their education outside of elementary school. Moving out of fifth grade without an understanding of these operations has an impact on their future academic and professional success. These materials not only provide the students with a hands-on math manipulative but a comprehensive teacher's guide as well. This will enhance the efficacy I have while integrating these blocks in my room. They will not just be a box up on a shelf that never gets opened! They will become an integral part of my fun, engaging, math-loving intervention classroom!
