After a wonderful first year of teaching in fourth grade, I will be embarking on a new adventure in first grade! I'm excited to be working with this age group and contributing to the educational foundation of these young scholars. However, moving to first grade means that the structure of the classroom will be a bit different from my previous year, which requires new materials. These new materials will contribute greatly in creating a positive and effective classroom environment for my first graders. Our new carpet will be used for morning meetings, which is vital in building a positive classroom community, and for whole group instruction time. The seat sacks will help organize students' learning supplies, ensuring that students will have what they need to achieve their academic goals. The countdown timer will help students transition smoothly from center to center during their reading and math centers. These materials will contribute so much to my students' learning. I can't wait to see what's in store in first grade!
