My students need a rug where they can gather. My classroom rug is at the very front of my classroom and will be used all throughout the day. We will begin by gathering around it to greet each other and acknowledge each other everyday. I am very passionate about building a strong classroom community and strong relationships both student-student and student-teacher. I also believe in flexible seating. My students are coming from hard backgrounds and I will do whatever it takes for my students to succeed. They will use the pillows to read on, write and do math. They will have the option to lay down on the carpet if they would like. The balance ball will be especially helpful for students who need to be moving while learning. The pillows allow students to find a quiet place in the classroom and work in their own area. My project sets my students up for success for learning in my classroom.
