My children love to look at books and are always wanting us to read to them! Having a listening center where they can go and have the stories read to them would encourage them to use book handling skills that I have modeled for them. Books are the portal to adventure for children. Through books children can go to places they can only dream of going. They can be anyone they would like to be and can do anything they can dream to do. Being able to add this center to my classroom would encourage the children to have a love of books that will last a lifetime.
