The first book, "How to Read Literature Like a Professor", is an essential in teaching students how to perform strong analysis. It is full of examples that explain different lenses through which a text can be analyzed and makes that information attainable to students so that they can harness the information and use it confidently with their own examples which is imperative for the AP exam but is also beneficial in life as it teaches varying perspectives on how life is viewed. This book will be a companion and lifeline for the entire duration of the course. The second book, "Ceremony", is a beautifully written novel that depicts PTSD and healing from a unique perspective while also bringing some local diversity into the classroom.
