Students walk into my room and immediately groan at how ridiculously hot it is. They do not and cannot learn in 90-100 degree temperatures in September, May, and June. The thermometer in my room reads 90 right now on May 30th. It was 89 during the second week of May. Many times students need to leave my room to go to the nurse because they get headaches or black out. In just one 45 minute class, they end up soaked in their sweat. It is unhealthy and unsafe for them to be in that kind of excessive heat. Having this air conditioner will create a more comfortable and positive learning environment for my kids. I want them to be able to WANT to come into my classroom and feel healthy and safe.
