Due to the cost of fresh flowers, it is tough to financially provide all of the Horticulture students with the opportunity to work much with floral design. This year, we are hoping to try out a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) model so that customers interested in arrangements can subscribe to receive an arrangement from students four times throughout this year. This will give students the chance to design with customers in mind. Of course, many of my students are beginners and we would like to make the CSA experience affordable for the community. Having floral toolboxes provided for the experience through this DonorsChoose.org project will allow us to focus the CSA investment on a variety of flowers for the students to work with. You can also plan to see student work on display at our annual Chapter FFA banquet. Last year, in the first year of our agriculture program, this was the only design our Horticulture class had the chance to do. After seeing last years students enjoy that work, I look forward to giving our wonderful year two crew a year-long learning experience! Thank you so much for your consideration of this project!
