In order for my "vision" of flexible seating to not overwhelm my new students, we are going to start by switching the desks out for these wonderful red tables and later slowly add in different types of seating such as rolling chairs, stools, and exercise balls. These tables will not just be for sitting and working at. They will be for chants, cheers, group work, creativity, dancing, and growing. (If you have ever been to The Ron Clark Academy you know what I'm referring to!) I believe that with flexible seating in the classroom, students will be able to find their "smart seat" and bring their focus and engagement to a higher level! That being said, the days of desk sitting, note taking, and lecturing are behind us. These tables will allow my students to get out of the typical 30 desk classroom setup. My students will have better opportunities for working together as a classroom community. We can't wait to get these amazing tables in our classroom so we can take our learning and creativity to a higher level! Let's get started, friends!
