The large area rug will be the central meeting area for the classroom. We will gather each morning to do a check-in and review the day’s schedule. The students will join me throughout the day for mini-lessons. All children will also have access to the rug for flexible seating during independent and partner work. It will become the center of classroom life! I anticipate that having this area rug in the classroom will provide a cozy, comfortable place that will make students feel welcome and at home. It will meet many of the academic and social-emotional needs of the children.
