I want the students to enjoy being in my class. These standing desks/sitting will give my students a choice. I hope through choice, the students fell more empowered to speak up, take risks, and put forth great effort in all that they do, in and out of my classroom. As teachers, we are trained to differentiate our instruction to meet the academic needs of all individuals. I want to take it a step further, and offer choice based on another need, the need to be comfortable! Students should be free to stand, stretch, sway, move, or just sit if they choose.
