I teach English as a Second Language. When my students come to my classroom, they know that their learning will consist of more than just rote memorization or taking notes. I like to use the visual and performing arts to help them learn English, and I especially like using presentations and visualizations to help make the input they need to learn comprehensible to them. Having a projector allows me to use a multi-media approach to teaching English in the 21st century. Technology is incredibly important to use in the classroom not only because it makes the content more interesting and engaging, but also because my students need to be competent users of technology in the world we live in today. Having a projector gives me the opportunity to teach by showing videos, playing music, having photographs and other visuals, creating fun presentations, and also gives me the ability to have my students create their own presentations! If I am able to get a projector, my students will learn English in an interesting and engaging way that will also allow them to practice using technology that they will need to use once they are out of high school.
