A Cricut is a multifunction die-cutter used to quickly and efficiently cut paper, vinyl, cardboard, and fabric that can be adhered to other surfaces and mediums. Both my students and I will be able to use the Cricut inside the classroom. I look forward to creating beautiful bulletin boards and anchor charts to help make our fire-proof walls a little more inviting. Furthermore, I'd like to make personalized rewards for students who receive awards in our quarterly academic celebrations. Our budget-restraints have kept us from fully recognizing the accomplishments of these individuals. These exceptional students would receive something meaningful like a personalized water bottle, t-shirt, or binder to celebrate their achievements that quarter. By using the Cricut, we can make vinyl stickers or fabric patches to attach to these reward items with the student's name, school spirit and mascot-related symbols, and other fun touches that will be relevant to our students. Additionally, students would be able to use the Cricut to make supervised product mock-ups for their business ventures, create polished tri-folds for their health studies competitions, and utilize the Cricut to advertise and produce merchandise to sell for student government fundraisers.
