The materials requested will help my students to do better in class. They will have all resources needed. They will have the option to read scholastic books if they have completed their work. This would be most applicable to students who tend to grasp concepts easily and may be finished with their work ahead of the their peers. The scholastic book are very colorful and informative. These magazines has stories written by other students. These students share their opinions on current events and encourage others to participate by thinking out of the box or by just reading about topics that will improve or increase their knowledge on current events. Some of the math problems found in the scholastic magazines are word problems. I have noticed that my students are not fond of math word problems. This is one way to help students to become more familiar with doing word problems. One will read a passage and answer the math questions. I normally do this as a whole group lesson to encourage students to read and use a mathematical interpretation to answer questions.
