In choir, students use sheet music every day to learn songs for performances. My choir program is budding, but still somewhat in its infancy. It takes time and money to build a music library, and the funding for a middle school music program in North Idaho like mine is very limited, making it a challenge to have enough sheet music for every student. Copyright laws prohibit photocopies of sheet music, so my students have to share their music with one (sometimes two) classmates, and each copy of music is often used by two to three classes each day. You can imagine how the music takes beating over the course of a semester! Brand new copies of sheet music barely make it through the semester! Having 3-ring binders to hold the sheet music will greatly reduce wear and tear. The rings hold the music in place so the folds do not tear, the pages are less likely to be ripped, the music does not get stepped on, and it cannot be rolled up and used to smack each other! Music can still be shared among students and classes, but will not have to be replaced as often. Please help us preserve our music!
