My Project My school is providing a Summer Camp for underprivileged students. The plan is to incorporate high interest increase their connections to literacy though Art. I will introducie them to the tools of the trade... real watercolor paper, pastels and using the proper erasers and the supplies that go with each medium. Funding is very limited and we need the help to provide the students with the tools for a successful program. We do not have very many resources and most of these kids do not come to school with any school supplies, such as Prisma double-sided markers, multicultural crayons, glue and scissors. Surely our students have never experienced using specialized supplies such as, Oxford 90 pound watercolor paper, water-soluable pastels, etc. Art Integration helps foster healthy risk taking, encourages students to gain confidence as they build skills in English Language Arts through art.
