Flexible seating allows students to take ownership of their learning by giving them a choice of how and where they sit (or stand) throughout the day. My students absolutely love selecting where they can work independently and collaboratively in our classroom. Many Kindergarteners are more comfortable to work on the floor, either sitting or laying on their stomachs. We need the rug and bath mats to give students some cozy spots to read, write, and work independently. Because my students have choice in their work, we also have many materials that need to stay organized and available to them at all times. The rolling carts will be perfect to help students find materials they need quickly and easily.
