The students in my class have already created their own learning environments around my room. They utilize every area around my classroom, finding comfortable spaces to work in. I believe in letting my students choose where they want to work each day to promote independence. I have already implemented some flexible seating around my classroom including a standing table, clipboards for floor work and ball seats. The only problem is I do not have enough seats for every student in my classroom. In order to make my ALL of my students more comfortable and focused, I need Wobble chairs, soft seats and reading pillows. To create a comfortable space for every student, you need many different seating options. I would like to add Wobble chairs to my classroom to help my extra wiggly students focus. These chairs can be used during independent work time or carpet time. I will need the soft seat cushions for small group time and during reading workshop. I am going to create a reading nook with the reading pillows under my standing table. I want my students to feel comfortable and at home in my classroom and I feel the way to do that is by creating a space that is welcoming and promotes choice. I have seen how choice and comfortable can positively affect my classroom environment and students. I know the new additions will help us even more!
