My kids come to school for a safe place to learn and grow. I want my space to be welcoming, inviting, and comforting. Success for me as a teacher is seeing my firsties striving and excited to come to school each day. These supplies will help all 21 of my students to reach their full potential every day they come to school! Everything has a specific purpose and will assist in my students’ daily routine. The bookcase is for book storage as our library is constantly growing. The book boxes are also for book storage. It is so important that the students are able to choose their own books to read to self. They can find books that are both at their level and fit their personal interest and enjoy them throughout the school year. The pencil pouches are also for math toolboxes that contain dice, number lines, hundreds charts, counters, counting cubes, and other manipulatives that we use daily. We write each day and the students are at a level where pictures and have a space to design their writing is important to build on their writing foundations. A good electric pencil sharpener assists in cutting down on transition time and allows the students to put more time towards their academic skills. I want my space to feel warm and inviting with a designated area for each subject we cover. The tools may seem simple but they are necessary for​ providing this essential safe space.
