Having an aquarium in our Pre-K classroom will allow my students to have hands-on experiences caring for and bonding with their pet fish each day. Sadly, our current fish tank no longer functions properly. A new fish tank will allow students to see our fish clearly as they begin to understand how caring for their fish is so important. Studies have shown that having a fish in any classroom has a relaxing and calming effect on all children. Although my classroom has a variety of personalities, skill sets, backgrounds and needs, ALL students will benefit social-emotionally by having a classroom aquarium.
