I chose a lot of lab resources that I will be utilizing this first semester of the year that my students will be using. I also got a lot of supplies in general that my students use day to day to keep up with how much we use them (like markers and colored pencils). I also included some decoration items in order to make my classroom a more comfortable and fun place for my students and myself. We would really appreciate the help in building an awesome lab space and classroom environment! This will help them get ready for high school and lab skills they will need while there. It will also get them ready for college or any other higher ed experience when it comes to science lab experiments and how to do them. Specifically, I am working one-on-one with a graduate student from my local college to build a lesson plan based off of what I teach in Ecology and what he does for his research. We need pipettes and microscope slides to begin teaching them lab skills like prepping slides and to show them a microscopic world they have not been introduced to yet. It is an exciting learning opportunity that these students may not necessarily get from their normal day-to-day lives. I have basic decoration items like border for decoration purposes, a doorbell to make transitions easier, a clicker for pacing through powerpoints, file folders are used to sort papers for students when they are done being graded, and post-its and whiteboard markers are used for an interactive classroom. The large sticky notepad will be used for anchor charts for when I showcase particular skills students will need to utilize for that particular unit. Please help us out as much as you can!
