My students need an opportunity to see how electricity and magnetism works, the motor and items in this lab will provide them the opportunity to not only understand the concepts but to build their own motors. Students will create electromagnets as well. Students who struggle with rote memory will have the opportunity to visualize, touch and create the concepts we are learning. I am requesting small helicopter motors and propellers, scientific circuit kits, small solar DIY panels, bar magnets and mini electrical and digital volts to create our project. Students who struggle in class and special education students will have the great advantage of working in lab groups and with stronger partners who may understand the concepts by learning through a lab opportunity. I enjoy mixing my in homogeneous groups so everyone helps everyone and can grow from each other. As a result everyone learns difficult concepts and labs like this one ensures everyone has an opportunity to learn! Several of my students who struggle with reading or understanding with text excel in labs and are able to learn in a different way, everyone can learn and that's why science is for everyone!
