My students enjoy reading, but unfortunately funds are not available to provide class sets of books. I have borrowed books from other teachers in the past, but several students would end up sharing one book because there weren't enough to go around. My students are a diverse bunch and they deserve books that have diverse characters they can relate to. In order to encourage students to read more, we have to provide them with interesting reading material. The stories found in Literature books are not very interesting and my students have a hard time connecting with the material. Your generous donation will expose my students to stories they may never have the opportunity to read.
