With comfy floor pillows and seats the students will be able to get excited about reading time. We have adopted Daily 5 and Reader's workshop, which both allow students the opportunity to choose. Studies show that if students are given the opportunity to choose what books to read and where to read them their interest for reading will grow. The flexible library seating will allow the students to step away from their desks, stretch out, and get comfortable reading their books. I have a designated library area where these seats already have a home waiting for them. The donations to this project will help my students grow as readers. The more students read the more they grow their comprehension skills. The growth in comprehension skills will help them become better readers and raise their test scores. Students will grow more if they are comfortable instead of just sitting at their desks or laying on the floor. I have a wide variety of books in the library, not I just need the seating to make reading time complete.
