With the addition of a heat press, my students will be able to take their design skills to the next level. Currently, our classroom has the tools and resources to create logos and other sources of digital media, but are very limited as what can be done with their finished products. They are able to print utilizing a Cricut cutting machine, but have no way to transfer their final designs to usable items. With the addition of a heat press, students can create custom t-shirts, mouse pads, bags, mugs, etc. All of the skills developed through using the heat press will follow my students post secondary. Students will have a complete understanding of what it takes to start from scratch on a project all the way through completion as well as working with a client in order to achieve the best results. Creating custom merchandise will enhance the overall student/client experience.
