I am setting up this project to help my classroom get flexible seating. Flexible seating is a great opportunity for students to be able to sit comfortably in the classroom. The idea of flexible seating is that during independent work time students are able to choose where they sit while they do work. Right now I have a lowered table with crate chairs, lap desks for the carpet and yoga mats for students to sit anywhere on the floor comfortably. It optimizes student learning because students can be active while still completing work and learning. I've learned by using flexible seating that students are more engaged and less disruptive of their classmates when they are given a choice of where to work. Having flexible seating will help create a classroom community of independent, responsible students who can choose the best possible seat for their learning. Flexible seating is a chance for students to learn and complete work while still getting the chance for their bodies to be moving in a safe, non distracting way at school. After learning about the benefits of flexible seating, there is no other way I want my classroom to be set up. Thank you for your support!
