My students need a fun, supportive, safe, organized, and easily accessible space to learn in. At this time, we are limited to 1 small cabinet that I have personally supplied to store basic school supplies, fine motor games/activities, and adapted equipment. The Space Saver Cabinet will allow me to bring in more essential materials that can be easily accessed by the students as needed. I would like for my students to become more independent with being able to identify and retrieve materials they need, safely. This will help greatly! Each of my students have unique sensory needs; thus, I want to ensure that sessions are enriched with sensory experiences for optimal learning. These students would benefit from adapted seating options in order to improve their attention to tabletop tasks and posture. At this time, we only have standard chairs, some of which are too big for the little ones! I have children who seek vestibular and proprioceptive input- which makes alternative seating like the move-and-sit cushion, wobble seats, and bouncing chairs absolutely essential. Having 1 of each of these allows for me to trial various methods with each student to find the right fit for them in the classroom. Although each child is unique, they all learn from hands-on experiences and could use some fun while they're at it! The sensory bin will allow to me to work on fine motor skills through the use of various tactile media in fun and creative ways. Overall, all of these materials would be a wonderful start to creating a fun and educational environment for each of my students. Thank you for your consideration!
