This upcoming year, I plan on doing a total of six different classroom transformations. During a classroom transformation, I decorate our classroom with a theme and my students will complete activities that relate to what we are learning and the theme throughout the day. I plan on doing many activities that relate to our fourth grade curriculum during these transformations. For example, during the Mario themed transformation, my students will learn about how video game graphics have advanced through time, and will get to create their very own 16-bit characters using their knowledge of coordinate grids, area, perimeter, and fractions. During the Jurassic Park transformation, students will solve measurement problems in order to “escape” the classroom. During the Outer Space transformation, my students will learn the fourth grade Earth Space standards while being surrounded by twinkling stars and inflatable planets. During our Safari transformation, students will enter a room filled with animals, vines, and more as we cover our Life Science Unit. We will also have a Pirate themed escape room and a Glow Day as we review for state testing next spring. The items included in this project will help make these classroom transformations much more authentic. Some of the materials will be used to decorate the classroom, while others will be for the students to wear. I am hoping to make these transformations exciting and engaging and hopefully something my students will remember for years to come. I am super excited for this upcoming year and these transformations, so please help me make them possible by supporting this project! Thank you!
