Students will be learning via online video instruction and a high quality webcam will ensure that there is no loss of visual aids (such as thinking maps and anchor charts) to students, despite not meeting in person in a classroom. It will develop a sense of classroom space. The drawing tablet will allow me to demonstrate problems, solutions, and student work in a natural way that lets students follow mathematical thinking on a digital page. Math instruction requires students to work through problems the with pencil and paper using Open Up Resources. A second monitor will allow me and my students to stay connected on one screen while presenting a lesson or student work onscreen. In this way, I can see them and be responsive to their needs, facial expressions, raised hands just like I would be in the classroom. A strong and stable modem/router will make sure lessons go as planned without interruption, especially when conducting interactive science labs!
