Comfortable beanbag seating will invite my students to spend time in the classroom library. My students will be able to sit quietly reading books independently or reading with partners. The seats will allow individuals and small groups to practice reading fluency. Students can sit together to discuss books they have read and to suggest books friends might enjoy reading later. With the addition of comfortable seating, our classroom library could be a cozy place for learning. Peer helpers could sit with classmates who need extra practice. My students could practice sight words, math facts, conversation skills, study for tests, and work out problems. I see many ways comfortable seating would benefit our learning goals.
