My students are reading below grade-level in English. Every day they are making great progress but we have a long way to go yet! By having these titles available to us we can read more age-appropriate texts designed for lower readers. These books are filled with teen issues but are written at an accessible level for my ELL students. These books will help keep their interest, while also addressing many of contemporary challenges that my students want to discuss! This will bring great conversations to my classroom and texts that are just right for their reading levels. Many of the materials written for students reading at this level are designed for elementary school students. The addition of these books will help my students improve their reading, while talking about relevant current topics in today's society.
