White boards and Promethean boards are wonderful additions to the classroom. However, when students or a teacher go up to demonstrate a math problem, or how to structure sentences, the body gets in the way of all students seeing what the teacher or student is doing up on the board. Document cameras make it easier, especially for special needs students, to follow along step by step assignment instructions, math problems and sentence structures as the material is being taught. 100% of students will be able to effectively copy step by step math problems because everyone can see what the steps are as the teacher breaks it down. I will be able to use the document camera for all subjects, and will be especially useful for demonstrating fine motor skill activities such as craft activities, and art projects.
