About my class

Imagine an entire classroom lit up with only glow sticks and black lights! This will grab my students' attention like never before. This project will have students working together and completing tasks while building social skills and problem solving skills. After transforming my room with various glow items, I plan on giving students tasks that set the stage for engagement! Using highlighters and black lights, my student can identify the main idea and details in a text. They could participate in fun, engaging glow in the dark math stations, and practice sight words on neon strips of paper. Can you see the smiles and excitement already? I want my students to become lifelong learners! I believe by creating memorable school experiences, children will be eager to pursue their education. In order to create these experiences, I need some basic supplies to help transform my classroom. I plan on using the tape, black lights, and glow sticks for multiple lessons throughout the year. Learning in a glow-in-the-dark environment will be something my students will never forget! Lastly, they say you are only as good as the teacher next to you. I fully believe that learning and sharing with colleagues is crucial to the success of an entire school. Most of my best ideas have been sparked by another teacher in some way. My plan is to share these glow materials so that engagement can be reached across multiple grade levels. Glow-in-the-dark learning will BRIGHTEN our whole school!
