These books will help my students understand themselves and how their Autism effects them. It will give them ideas on how to regulate the many emotions and struggles they face on a daily basis. They will have a resource to help them on hard days and a place for celebration when they get through a difficult situation. These books will spread awareness as we will share these with all the classrooms and teachers in our building. All kids can learn about Autism and start to understand their classmates and their behavior. It is becoming more and more prevalent in our schools and it is just as important for the students without Autism to learn about it as it is for those who have Autism. These books will start a library about Autism that can be accessed by anyone in our building. Teachers can use it in reading lessons or as situations occur. I can teach directly from them to my students to help with the skills each child struggles with. My students can share these books with their peers to help them understand.
