My middle school students seem to struggle with anything and everything that our society can throw at them. One of the daily struggles that I see with my students is their ability to concentrate and really own their learning. If I can transform my classroom from the traditional desks to providing a comfortable learning environment that the students can own and take pride in, the student will have the opportunity to enjoy school and the learning process. If the students are comfortable, then they can focus better and the depth of learning will began to become deeper and with more meaning. With flexible seating, the bean bag type chairs, couch, futon, etc. type of seating can provide this type of learning environment.
