Kindergarten is the foundation of learning. My students will benefit from the math games in so many academic and social areas. They will develop skills in shapes, patterning, counting, measurement, comparing numbers, making ten, simple addition and simple subtraction using these hands-on games. The literacy games would be a wonderful addition to literacy centers in my classroom. My students will develop skills in phonemic awareness, letter recognition, and word building. They will learn to differentiate beginning, middle and ending sounds in words as well through the use of these hands-on activities. The magnetic letters will be used in a variety of ways. These letters can be used in any academic area, such as building scientific vocabulary words during science, name spelling, building sight words, and countless other activities. This box would allow more than one student to use them at a time, which is wonderful in a class of 20+ students.
