I believe having working sand/water tables for outside play would be a great addition to our playground. Currently, we are using make shift tables to hold the sand/ water due to many years of use. It would benefit the kindergarten students' exploratory skills as well as social skills. We can also explore mixing sand with water, to see cause and effect, scavenger hunting, etc. The students love hiding dinosaurs in the sand, and pretending to be paleontologists by digging them up. They also love to build sand castles and use sand toys.
